Biosketch

I obtained my Ph. D. degree in Chemistry from the University of Delhi (DU) in 2015, working on catalyst development for renewable fuels and chemicals production. Recently, I have joined University of Milan (Italy) after two years stays at Politecnico di Milano as a Marie Curie Fellow where I work on understanding catalyst deactivation by chromatographic and spectroscopic studies combined with computational catalysis. Prior to my association with PoliMI, I was working at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi jointly with the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer and Department of Chemical Engineering for developing a process on integrated technology utilizing the unique combination of fermentation and catalysis for the production of biomass-based energy and value-added chemicals from agro-residues. Among recent awards, I received Marie Curie Individual Fellowship from European Union (2019), Gandhian Young Technological Innovation award (2018) from Hon’ble President of India, BIG Innovator from Biotechnology Research Assistance Council (2018) and National Postdoctoral Fellowship from Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India. My current research is focused on the development of an alternative technology for clean energy and value-added chemicals production from inexpensive feedstock e.g., biomass and CO2 and understanding reaction mechanisms through combined experimental and computational studies.
